Hey, journalists, here’s an idea…

March 20, 2009

I really have to just start another journalism blog, so those of you who are here for Africa don’t have to wade through this. But the journalism business problem is one with universal significance, as in, how will we good people ever know anything without…me?

Anyway, here’s Journalism-Saving Idea No. 349348931, from the very clever Dan Gillmore, guest blogging here:

What would happen if some top English language journalism organizations simply merged and started charging for their breaking news and commentary about policy, economics and and other national/international topics. That is, what if they were to combine for critical mass and keep most of their journalism off the public Internet for a few days after publication but then make the archives freely available?

    Hi, Jina

I just watched an excellent panel on CSPAN3 on the Future of Journalism which was held at George Washington University and moderated by Marvin(?) Kalb with folks from NPR, CNN, Knight Foundation and Associated Press.

    Check out

(If that’s wrong link let me know — as you know I’m a novice at this web business.)
